Kevin Cody, PhD is ‘million dollar man’
for those without health insurance

Kevin Cody, PhD, a volunteer for the Ann Silverman Community Health Clinic since 2000, was recently honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his role in securing more than $1 million in prescription medicines for the uninsured patients of the clinic.

“Dr. Cody has donated an enormous amount of time and energy in procuring free medications for our patients, a process that involves a lot of paperwork, communication and knowledge,” said Peggy Dator, executive director of the clinic. “He is detail-oriented, but understands the big picture while advocating for our patients, all of whom have no healthcare insurance and are of limited means.”

In his retirement and for the last 11 years as a volunteer, Dr. Cody provided 2,483 hours of service and secured medications from a number of pharmaceutical manufacturers that retail in excess of $1 million.
